Yogurt cake with pears and chocolate

for 1 casserole dish (35 x 35 cm)

for the dough

  • 200 g dark chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 200 g butter
  • 240 g brown sugar
  • 80 ml espresso coffee
  • 100 g natural whole milk hay milk yogurt
  • 3 eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 200 g plain flour, type 00
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt

in addition

  • 4 pears
  • 50 g dark chocolate


Place the chopped chocolate, butter, sugar and coffee in a saucepan and heat until all the ingredients have melted.

Remove the saucepan from heat, put the mixture in a bowl and let it cool for 5 minutes.

Add yogurt, eggs and vanilla extract and whisk it together.

Blend the sifted flour, baking powder and salt and stir into the dough until smooth.

Place the mixture in a 35 x 35 cm casserole dish with parchment paper.

Peel the pears, remove the core, cut them into slices and place them on the dough.

Bake in the preheated oven at 200°C (180°C convection oven) for 30 minutes.

Remove the cake from the oven, let it cool for 10 minutes and then let it cool down on a grate.

Melt the dark chocolate over a water bath and decorate the cake with it according to taste.
