the majority of the Mila farms are over 1,000 meters above sea level
As a large family of 2,200 mountain farmers and 470 employees it‘s our mission to uphold the South Tyrolean dairy industry and produce high-quality products.
Community is everything
Mila belongs to the farmers. They are suppliers and owners of the cooperative Latte Montagna Alto Adige. Together with our employees, which act as ambassadors and partners, sharing our values, we secure their income.
Our farmers are our competitive asset – they deliver daily valuable raw materials, the South Tyrolean mountain-farmed milk, which we refine to high-quality products in no time at all. Our clients and consumers trust that we will produce quality and tasty products. Our employees are our capital. A respectful manner, personal development, and an HR policy that is family- and life-cycle-oriented are issues close to our hearts.

Mila – a success story for many years
Beginning of success
The Val Venosta alpine dairies union (VSV) is founded. No one knew that this would become the greatest dairy cooperative of South Tyrol.
The name is born
One year after the founding there are already 30 members in the union. The name is introduced: "Mila" stems from the two first letters of milk and latte (milk).
Building the plant
The building of the Bolzano-Campiglio plant begins.
The first Mila yogurt is bottled, and the production of fresh milk, fresh cream, butter and curd cheese begins.
Mila Soc. Agr. Coop., Centro Latte Brunico Soc. Agr. Coop. (Senni) and Latteria Burgusio are merged as "Milkon Südtirol".
Values with responsibility
"Latte Montagna Alto Adige" is created out of the merger of the base cooperatives Mila und Senni, and becomes a state-of-the-art managed company.
As the first producer of SKYR in Italy, Mila – Latte Montagna Alto Adige introduces a new product to the refrigerator, full of proteins and low in fat, ideal for active gourmets.
Good things take time
The new aging warehouse in the Brunico plant starts operating. It offers more room and the perfect conditions for optimal cheese maturing.
Bolzano production expands
New office space and social facilities are established for the employees. Additionally production is expanded and a new cafeteria built.
