Mila Milk Bath Therapy
The therapeutic action of bathing in milk is not an invention of modern wellness gurus – not by any means. According to legend, the famed Egyptian queen Cleopatra, known for her radiant beauty, swore to the positive effects of milk; and at that time, they used donkey milk! Creamy, soothing body cream made of fresh milk from South Tyrol’s mountain pastures was also an essential component of Empress Sissi’s health sojourns in Merano.
The particles of fat contained in milk are largely responsible for its unique effect on the body when added to bath water: the milk fat polishes and soothes the skin. In addition, lactic acid balances the natural pH-value of the skin: this keeps our acid mantle healthy and protects us from harmful effects of the environment. Milk also contains a number of valuable active substances that have a long-lasting positive effect on the skin.
Tip: After a milk-bath treatment, don’t rub your hair dry - just pat it gently!
Milk & Honey Bath:
The Mila Milk & Honey Bath is suited to all types of skin – it makes the skin softer and smoother. Honey supports the protective effects of milk and gives bath water a pleasant fragrance. Dissolve a few spoonfuls of honey in one litre of warm Mila Milk and add to bath water, together with two tablespoons of sea salt.
Milk & Oil Bath:
The Mila Milk & Oil Bath is especially effective for dry and rough skin. For a moisture-rich and regenerating bath, add a half-liter of Mila milk and one or two tablespoons of olive oil to your bath. Scented bath oil can also be added if you like.
Chamomile & Milk Bath:
This fragrant bath soothes dry, overstressed skin; it also returns skin to its naturally supple state. Pour boiling water over dried chamomile flowers and add the mixture – together with half a litre of Mila milk – to bath water.
