Corporate and environmental policies of the MILKON South Tyrol Cooperative and Agricultural Company

Milkon South Tyrol is a dairy cooperative. We rank among the leading companies in our sector, transforming fresh milk from our member farms into pure and flavourful dairy products that satisfy the high standards expected by our customers – all the while maintaining respect for the environment and our time-honoured traditions.

Healthy Growth and Profitability

In order to maintain our competitive advantage, we need healthy growth and sufficient profitability. We accomplish this through strong positioning of certain products and specific market segments, and by maintaining a rigorous product differentiation and innovation policy.

Give Our Farmers a Secure Future

As a cooperative, one of our primary mandates is to secure the livelihood of nearly 3,500 farming families in South Tyrol. We achieve this by setting a fair milk price, providing reliable consultation services and production support; these measures ensure production and delivery of high-quality, GMO-free milk.

Made in South Tyrol: Nature’s Value Chain

Our customers and consumers in general respond to our dairy products because they are healthy, fresh, natural and delicious – and made exclusively with milk from South Tyrol. They expect us to meet certain standards of product safety and regulation: we do this by using the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point System (HAACP) throughout every stage of production. Our strict adherence to legal guidelines, standards and regulations provides the framework for – and is the guiding principle of – our business, and furthers sustained improvement of our products, operations and procedures.

Technically qualified, motivated employees are one of our most important factors of success. We encourage good working relationships, open channels of communication, personal advancement, ongoing professional training, and a pleasant atmosphere in the workplace. Environmentally Responsible Business Practices

We take responsibility where the environment is concerned. We strive to gear ourselves towards environmentally friendly and sustainable production. We take measures to prevent pollution and hazards to the environment, and to minimize consumption of resources.

In order to uphold these quality standards, each employee implements our Quality and Environmental Management System (QM/UM system). They each use a handbook – which we have compiled in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards – that provides information, procedures and guidelines about quality control.

Our Managing Director is committed to company-wide implementation and periodic reassessment of all facets of our Quality and Environmental Management System. The Managing Director appoints a QM/UM designee who monitors compliance with the Quality and Environmental Management System and its practical application.

Our Managing Director is responsible for implementing our corporate and environmental policies; all of our employees are familiar with them.
